Fans will recognize metal chanteuse Alexis Brown as the lead singer of Straight Line Stitch . It was a great honor to complete this interview with her today, while she's currently on tour. At the Bar with Fallon Bowman

South African-born, Canada-based Fallon Bowman is the former guitarist for and founding member of Kittie .  She has since helmed Amphibious Assault and now Fallon & The Grace Dynasty .  I completed this interview with her on May 24, 2010. At the risk of making us both sound old, I first fell in awe of you when I was in the 11th grade. A friend showed me the "Spit" album and my eyes immediately went to you. I remember gasping over and over again, "There's a brown girl in Kittie? Really?"  We both thought you were black, at first; later, of course, I learned you're of Indonesian descent.  Among others! My heritage is closely tied to my birth country's dubious relationship with colonialist aspirations - and clearly - desires as well. Now, to be very, VERY honest with you, you were the reason I KEPT listening to Kittie. I bought your album, watched your videos, bought your VHS - you name it. #BlackAltBae: Miles Strand

I stumbled across  Miles Strand on TikTok when he did a metal cover of "Unholy" by Sam Smith. You may have noticed I repost him a lot on Instagram. So when he answered my call for allcomers, I was ecstatic. I reluctantly concluded this awesome interview on June 27th, 2023...but I had to let the man get back to his life. Miles!!! Your version of "Unholy" ruined all other versions for me, including the original (I accidentally heard yours first, and after that, no one else came close). How long have you been making music? HAHAHAHA, oh man, I love that! Well, I started my first (real) band in high school, and that was the first instance where I started trying to actually write and perform my own stuff, so I guess it's been about 23 years that I've been making music!
